Nine families accepted our invitation to the annual weekend trip for our bereaved families, held September 11–13, 2026. This year, we traveled together to the beautiful state capital of Saxony—Dresden.
In the group room at the youth hostel, we gave everyone plenty of space to express their feelings and share memories of the children who are no longer with us. Memorial candles were lit, and during these meaningful conversations, participants lovingly bent wire into names or symbols that will later find a special place at the gravesite or as decorations at home.
Of course, exploring the city of Dresden was an essential part of the weekend. We took a vintage bus to visit the city’s most important sights, among other places, which left a deep impression on all the participants.
On Sunday, we headed back home with many new memories—already looking forward to next year’s trip.
