Our organization supports families with children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer during the difficult period of treatment and beyond. Child-friendly, playful activities that encourage physical movement are an important part of our work—especially during hospital stays—to prevent additional physical discomfort caused by spending long periods in bed. The playroom on the pediatric oncology ward provides an incentive for patients to leave their own rooms.

a new, sturdy multifunctional table has now been purchased for the playroom, on which children can play table soccer, air hockey, and billiards.
The practical swivel function allows for easy, space-saving switching between the three game options and is particularly appealing to the older children on the ward, who sometimes need a little more encouragement to participate in group activities.
In addition to providing physical activity, playing together creates an opportunity to interact with other patients on the ward, thereby strengthening a sense of community and preventing social isolation.
